Mayotte distress: French island inhabitants round up 'nonnatives'

A gathering of occupants from the Indian Ocean French island of Mayotte has been gathering together presumed illicit vagrants and taking them to nearby police. 

The move focused around 100 "nonnatives, Comorans and Africans", an individual from the gathering told AFP. 

Challenges against the monetary emergency and unlawful workers from the Comoros islands have incapacitated the island. 

Mayotte has been in turmoil since mid-February, with barricades, a general strike and challenges. 

France's priest for abroad regions, Annick Girardin, has censured the move, saying "this sort of training does not exist in an office". 

She asked the populace to give the police a chance to carry out their activity, including that security courses of action were at that point set up.
